ms. leslie allen - Head Tradition Competitive Cheer Coach
Coach Leslie Allen is the current Head STUNT coach at Vanguard University, joining their athletic staff in the Spring of 2017. A veteran coach with a reputation for building championship teams, she was tasked with building Vanguard’s STUNT program, from scratch. “My motto for each team I coach is 'strive for excellence in everything we do' and I believe this is the common thread that runs through every aspect of my role as a coach … creating an environment where dedication, confidence, character, and a personal Christian walk is developed in each team member." Last year her team was NAIA National Champions and in 2019 she was nominated as NCAA Division II Coach of the Year.
A 22-year coaching veteran Allen has a wealth of experience (seventeen years as head cheer coach at St. John's Lutheran School in Orange, Orange Lutheran High School, Cypress High School, and Ouachita Baptist University in Arkansas) and a proven recipe for success. Allen is a self-described “progression coach” … “there is a right way to do everything … and everything matters”. Over the 12 years Allen spent at Orange Lutheran High School, her varsity cheer teams won three National Championships and eight UCA State Championships, as well as regional and invitational state titles. Her teams were also finalists at UCA Nationals in Florida and regularly highlighted on ESPN for the National High School Cheerleading Championship. More than 75% of her senior cheerleaders at Orange Lutheran went on to cheer at the college level, many on an athletic scholarship.
Coach Allen and her husband, Wayne, have 3 children; Lyndsie, Jay and Lacy.
But they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint. Isaiah 40:31
