A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another. By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another. John 13:34-35
Our girls soccer team is a competitive team that offers girls a chance at success both on and off the field. We began playing in November of 2008 as a JV program, finishing the year 11-6. In 2009-10 season we began playing as a varsity program in the Division 6 Academy league. In 2011-13, we placed 2nd in the Academy league. Each year we hosted a playoff game for the first round. For the 2013 campaign, our league moved up to Division 5, competing against bigger schools and stronger programs.
During the 2016/2017 season we went undefeated winning the Academy League Championship. We also were Division 5 runners-up in the CIF Finals. Coach Jennings, in his first season was humbly awarded the Orange County Girls Soccer Coach of the Year.
During the 2017/2018 season our girls came in 3rd place in our last year in the Academy League. We will continue to grow and develop as a program in the Empire League. The girls soccer program is growing fast and making a name for themselves in Orange County. The future is bright for the Saints and we are excited to see what the Lord has in store for this program!
Come cheer us on and watch us turn our program into one of the most recognized programs in Southern California High School Soccer.
Crean Lutheran girls soccer team looks to senior leadership to lead the way
"A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another. By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.” John 13:34-35
Crean Lutheran’s girls soccer team will be out to have a successful season under Coach Stephen Jennings as it follows the team’s Bible Verse. “Christians have the greatest opportunity to share God's existence and truth by how we show His love to one another,” Jennings said. “In our team there needs to be an observable love towards our fellow believers so that the non-Christian will see a genuinely changed people.”
Jennings said he is counting on a number of players to lead the way, including Hannah Ebeling, a senior returner, captain, and a four-year varsity starter; Anna Koczwara, a senior returner, captain and four-year varsity starter; Hannah Cumming, a junior returner, captain and three-year varsity starter and returning players, senior Ally Violette, junior Aly Sanchez, senior Sara Arabzadeh and juniors Sophia Sciarra and Julia Cuddyer.
“My hopes for the season is that the team competes in every game to the best of their ability,” Jennings said. “We have a very talented group this year with some tremendous senior leadership and three very promising freshmen in Anna Clineff, Hannah Montford and Sarah Dougherty. These girls have the ability to impact the varsity team right away.”
The team will open the season on Thursday, Nov. 21 with a home match against Saddleback Valley Christian.

Blessings! I'm Stephen Jennings and I am the Physical Education teacher, as well as one of the Strength and Conditioning teachers. I am also The head girls soccer coach. I have two beautiful girls and one on the way. My wonderful wife is an Orthopedic Charge Nurse at HOAG Irvine. I have a passion for the Lord, my family, teaching, coaching, and Liverpool FC. I feel incredibly blessed and fortunate to be a part of the Saints family and I look forward to working in this ministry with Crean Lutheran.
Prior to my beginning at Crean Lutheran, I worked for nine years at Saddleback Valley Christian School. I taught Anatomy and Physiology, and held the role of Physical Education Department Head. I was also the boys' soccer coach for seven years, and lead my skilled team to achieve the title of 2015 Div. 7 CIF finalist.
In my first season as head coach of Crean Lutheran Saints, we went undefeated in the Academy League. We were runners-up in the CIF Finals, and I was awarded the Orange County Girls Soccer Coach of the Year. The 2016/2017 season was an absolute blessing.
During my free time you will find me outside playing soccer, surfing, shooting my bow, or swimming. I look forward to meeting you and sharing my excitement, passion and dedication to Christian Education.
