Crean Lutheran High School has established an athletic department that is dedicated to teaching Christian character development through the pursuit of competitive excellence in sports. Our purpose is to be transformational in the lives of student-athletes. Crean Lutheran competes in the Empire League.

The Crean Lutheran High School Athletic department implements the InSideOut tenets for all of our coaches and trainers. Coaches first have to “go inside” and articulate their reasons for coaching. As our staff take this InSideOut journey they become transformational in the lives of our student-athletes.

The InSideOut Initiative (ISOI) is a national movement that empowers and equips school communities to implement purpose-based athletics by connecting student-athletes to transformational coaches in a culture of belonging, for their social emotional character development.

The Initiative develops the Five Competencies of Transformational Leaders and Coaches; self-awareness, self-management, relational development, social awareness, moral and ethical decision-making, equipping them with the skills and resources necessary to positively impact the social-emotional character of their student-athletes.
