Let us come before the LORD with thanksgiving, and extol him with music and song! Psalm 95:2
We are blessed at Crean Lutheran High School with the ability to boldly proclaim our reasons for pursuing excellence in the arts. It is our goal to proclaim the good news of the Gospel, Christ's death and resurrection on the cross, through our visual arts, our music, our dancing, and our dramatic performances.
He has made everything beautiful in its time. Also, he has put eternity into man’s heart, yet so that he cannot find out what God has done from the beginning to the end. Ecclesiastes 3:11
Crean Lutheran High School is excited to announce that Leslee Myers has been named the new Director of Performing Arts. Myers attended Lutheran schools from elementary school through college and has worked in Christian education for several years in both Southern California and Seattle, teaching Theater, Art History, Literature, and Music.
Myers received Bachelors degrees in Theater and English from Concordia University Irvine where she focused on British Literature, Directing, and Creative Writing/Playwriting. She also holds a Masters degree in Educational Theater from New York University.
Myers has clear goals for the Crean Lutheran performing arts program: “I plan to continue the tradition of offering excellence in education and reflecting upon the image of our Creator through the arts,” she said. “To achieve this goal, I plan to strengthen and widen our offerings in the performing arts, both curriculum and student involvement, with the intention of encouraging well-rounded, life-long learners and artists who seek creative expression, take risks to expand skills and confidence, and thus add beauty to our world.”
Myers strongly believes in the power of the arts, which she is enthusiastic to share through her new role: “The Apostle Paul encouraged the Philippians to ‘dwell on what is lovely.’ At its best, the arts allow us to do just that — to take in the lovely, the beautiful, the noble,” she said.
Myers is a member of Christ Lutheran Church in Brea. Among her interests are reading, running, photography, traveling, and going on weekend adventures with her dogs.
