Online Classes

Follow appropriate online etiquette and treat the instructor and other students with respect. Be aware of potential cultural differences in verbal communications and interactions online.

Create a schedule and manage your time wisely. Even though an online course may provide greater flexibility, there are still deadlines to meet. 

Log in at least once a day. Instructors will often post announcements, updates, and other information that will help you succeed.

Take responsibility for your own learning. The instructor will do their best to help you succeed, but it is up to you to stay motivated and learn.

Connect with your instructor early and often. If you have a question or need help, reach out right away before too much time passes.

Make the most of online discussions and online readings. Online discussions are usually the best place to interact with classmates and your instructor and learn from their perspectives.

Students receive all school communication through a school-issued email address that is protected from spam and online attacks.

While students may be required to post student-created content on public sites for course assignments, all confidential student information (grades, ID’s, etc.) is hosted within secure, password protected platforms.

Students should not share personal information online. Think before you post. 

Students should use proper online safety standards including passwords that are more than 8 characters long and a combination of letters and numbers.
